Job Summary

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of individuals, property, and assets within a designated area or premises. The Security Office enforces rules and regulations to maintain order, to prevent unauthorized access, and to identify and prevent potential threats. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining a secure environment, excellent communication
skills, and the ability to respond rapidly and effectively to emergency situations.

Duties and Responsibilities
The consistent responsibilities of the Security Officer include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Patrol assigned areas, monitor surveillance equipment, and conduct regular security checks
to identify and deter potential security risks.
• Investigate and report any suspicious activities, incidents, or safety hazards.
• Control access points and monitor entrances and exits ensuring only authorized personnel
are granted entry.
• Prevent unauthorized access by politely but firmly confronting individuals who do not have
proper identification or authorization.
• Conduct thorough inspections of bags and packages to prevent the entrance of unauthorized items.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations. Follow emergency protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and other emergency response teams when necessary.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, diffusing conflicts and managing potentially volatile situations.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to exchange information and coordinate security efforts.
• Conduct security briefings, training, and awareness programs to promote a culture of safety and security among employees and visitors.
• Employ a knowledge of common safety and security hazards and applicable precautions to establish a safe and secure environment.
• Ensure guests, team members, and any other individuals or groups on site comply with Company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Model safe work practices for others.

Required Education and Experience
• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in security, law enforcement, or the military.
• Security personnel must attain and retain on their person at all times a Non-Gaming Sheriff’s Card and an Alcohol Awareness Training Card (commonly known as a TAM Card).
• Security personnel must also attain and retain on their person at all times a Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) Health Card.
• All Security employees must complete an Alcohol Awareness course before beginning employment and must repeat this course every four (4) years.

Preferred Education and Experience
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be required.
• At least three years of experience in security, law enforcement, or the military.
• Certifications or training in security management or law enforcement.
• Proven experience as a security officer or in a related role.
• Working knowledge of security systems, surveillance equipment, and access control procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of Punk Rock music and culture.
• Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. • Bilingual—particularly, but not limited to, English and Spanish.

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interview witnesses and draft legible, factual, thorough reports.

• Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to assist guests and interact with all business contacts.
• Must have ability to be reliable and punctual and demonstrate great time management skills.
• Must have ability to work under pressure while maintaining physical stamina and a proper mental attitude.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Must be able to demonstrate an outgoing and welcoming personality.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, and enclosed spaces.
• This position must access all areas of the facility and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying.
• This position must move in different directions and positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• May require bending and reaching in areas from floor level to six feet high.
• The position may remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
• The position requires repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• The position must position or move objects up to 40 pounds.
• Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols as well as utilize effective eye/hand coordination.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, high-sensory, and high-energy environment.

Additional Requirements
• This is a full-time position which requires a flexible schedule which includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, holidays, and music festivals.
