Position Description: Mathematica is looking for a

Business Data Associate!

The chosen candidate will coordinate with internal leads regarding business data, business processes, and technology to ensure holistic management of the systems’ data. They will work to ensure the data systems ultimately run smoothly, increase team productivity, feed into the larger enterprise’s data governance model, and provide as much value to the organization as possible. They will also support governance of these processes and data points via documentation such as data dictionaries. In addition, the Business Analyst Associate may support the data system processes via documentation of the processes and workflows. They may also collaborate closely with leaders to define and communicate a clear vision for any data or procedural changes, as well as develop measures for the data and processes.

Core Responsibilities:

Data entry and analysis of contract data Analysis of datasets from multiple data sources, including non-contract data Create and manage data reports, data quality checks, and visualizations for the data systems from a system and operational perspective Work independently and collaboratively with a diverse set of key stakeholders (internal business departments, IT staff, business unit staff) to clarify requests and successfully manage the needs related to the data and user processes Document and manage data updates in data dictionaries Utilize interpersonal skills – including verbal and written communication, organization, and planning – with diverse key stakeholders May document and map processes and workflows utilizing Visio (or similar software) May partner with internal stakeholders and change management team to define end-state outcomes and understand how data and processes need to change to deliver outcomes. May develop, implement, and routinely measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for the data and processes Actively support the advancement of organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and apply diversity, equity, and inclusion lens across job responsibilities Additional duties may be assigned as needed Position Requirements:

• BA or BS degree in a relevant field (Mathematics, Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer or Data Science, Statistics, or Management), or equivalent experience. • 0-4 years of experience in a data-focused or business-operational environment, preferably related to business analysis, government program operations, business modeling/mapping, business process design, or project management. • Proficient Excel, database (e.g., Access, SQL), and reporting (e.g., QlikView, Tableau) skills • Excellent organizational, planning, numerical, and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience in process mapping/developing workflows or user experience (UX) preferred Available locations: Washington, DC; Remote

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $55,000 - $65,000.
