As a Security Host/Hostess the main goal is to provide a safe and secure environment that enables our guests, staff, and vendors to experience the high-energy, best in class fine dining experience that Toca Madera Houston will offer. 

Responsibilities: 

  • The Security Host performs protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and professional manner while dealing with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances, threats to life and property.  

  • As a first responder, will be trained on Infant, Child, and Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Stop the Bleed Training and fire extinguisher procedures to respond to emergencies as needed 

  • Conduct interior and exterior restaurant patrol to identify undesirable conditions 

  • Evaluate a situation and quickly make logical decisions on how to proceed while maintaining a calm demeanor 

  • Investigations, including evaluation of the scene, interviewing complainants and witnesses, involve correct personnel to assist with the investigation 

  • Documentation and report writing 

  • Maintain order in the restaurant while attending to the needs of our guests, staff members and vendors 

  • Assist in safety controls for performance aspects taking place inside the venue 

  • Coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire alarms, safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational, persuasive manner 

  • Handle violations of restaurant policy, civil laws, and undesired conduct  

  • Respond to security and emergency situations and prioritize the work in a timely manner  

  • Provide key assist 

  • Provide accurate information to guests, staff and vendors seeking directions and hours of operation 

  • Receive, record and secure found property – will also research and respond to guest inquiries for lost property 

  • Escort staff and guests as required to parking lots 

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age 

  • Valid State security credentials/licensees  

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Must present a well-groomed appearance  

  • Two years of experience in a position with direct guest contact required 

  • Strong verbal, written and technology skills required  

  • Keyboarding skills 25 WPM  

  • Investigation skills 

  • Perform general clerical duties using Microsoft Office and other site-specific programs 

  • Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in excessive heat or cold (depending on location). 

  • Maintain strong observation skills with elevated level of detail and scrutiny for entire shift 

  • Must be able to work independently 

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 lbs.  

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English   

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • An associate degree or higher 

  • A successful candidate will have experience as a first responder – related experience that best aligns with the day-to-day operation may include: 

  • Hospitality Security Guard/Officer experience 

  • High-end customer service experience 

  • Successfully completed basic training in the Military 

  • Loss Prevention and/or Plain Clothes Operatives experience 

  • High pressure situational experience such as Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter, Flight Attendant 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY 
Full availability is required seven (7) days per week, including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
