Job Description
SUMMARY:
Maintains facility, customer/guest and Team Member security and safety during assigned shift. Escorts all money transfers throughout the casino, escorts armored car personnel while in the facility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in law enforcement, military or security (preferred), or current Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certificate or substitute the following certificates in place of 1 year experience; guard card, pepper spray certificate, and hand-cuff training certificate/permit
- Guard Card (preferred)
- Valid California Driver’s License (required)
- Must be Casino vehicle insurable
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn proper security procedures in a public relations/customer service atmosphere
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Federal, tribal, State and local laws applicable to the Casino
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED (required) and successful completion of one year of higher education (preferred), or combination of education, training or experience that would provide the required minimum qualifications.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Able to obtain and maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission License
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patrols casino gaming floor, hallways, exterior of the casino and parking areas to ensure safety of all resources, facilities, customers and employees
- Ensures compliance with Casino policies, State and local laws
- Provides traffic control as necessary to ensure the safe flow of traffic and parking
- Conducts observation of Casino patrons, employees and property in an effort to identify and deter criminal or unusual activity.
- Investigates guest concerns and reports of criminal activity and completes detailed reports using a computer.
- Escorts patrons between the parking lot and Casino as necessary or requested
- Coordinates investigations or emergency activities with local law enforcement, Tribal Police and other emergency service providers
- Physically controls disorderly patrons as needed
- Conducts regular foot patrols
- Works effectively with coworkers, the public, and other law enforcement officials
- Communicates effectively; orally and in writing.
- Provides Security over BVA drop
- Conducts TG drop as needed
- Responsible for compliance with the Casino’s internal control policies and procedures as it relates to the positions stated job description
- Performs other duties as directed or assigned
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: (*Constantly, Frequently, Occasionally)
- Constantly walking and standing; sitting as required
- Able to carry/lift up to 50#
- Constant hearing, seeing and talking
- Constantly balancing, bending, reaching, twisting, holding, frequent use of wrist, and stooping
- Running and / or quickly walking as situation dictates
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work may be performed indoors or outside
- Indoor work is in a climate-controlled environment; in close spaces while working with others and excessive exposure to noise, lights and smoke
- Outside environment may include conditions such as cold, extreme heat, rain, fumes, smoke, dust or excessive noise
