We're seeking a ML Research Scientist to join the UI Understanding team within AIML. The UI understanding team tackles challenges at the intersection of ML and HCI, with a focus on automated understanding, interaction, evaluation, and generation of graphical user interfaces of all kinds across all Apple platforms. Research Scientists in our team collaborate with ML Engineers, Software Engineers, and other specialists to tackle significant technical and human-centered challenges, develop and deploy technologies using Machine Learning, and collaborate with partner teams across Apple to ship internal tools and external products.
Description
We are building machine learning technologies to understand, interact with, evaluate, and generate user interfaces. These technologies integrate into a variety of Apple products and services. Our technologies were the basis for the Screen Recognition feature in iOS 14 and have since been integrated into a variety of products and services across Apple. You'll work closely with the rest of the team to implement and deliver UI Understanding technologies into several tools and products. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with and impact multiple teams across the company, and through those teams, millions of Apple users.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years practical experience in software development
Experience engineering production software systems on mobile devices; especially on Apple platforms
Ability to be self-directed and handle competing demands from multiple simultaneous projects
Experience in building early stage products, and making them robust and scalable
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or greater, or related field or equivalent experience preferred
