Principal Engineer – Identity & Security (Or IAM Architect / IAM Principal Engineer)

Our client, a successful financial organization, is seeking a Principal Security Engineer focusing on Identity and Access Management (IAM). In this strategic role, you'll lead efforts to enhance security across multi-cloud environments, driving innovation and engineering new IAM capabilities our client’s expanding cloud presence.

Location: Irvine/Costa Mesa area (2 days per week onsite)

This full-time role is expected to pay about $200-240k+ plus excellent benefits package

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement cross-cloud IAM solutions, ensuring secure authentication across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Drive collaboration across engineering and architecture teams to integrate new IAM technologies, including Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM).
• Lead technical discussions to design secure, scalable solutions aligned with industry best practices.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships across the business to identify and address identity security needs.
• Conduct market research on emerging IAM technologies, leading proof-of-concepts to evaluate potential solutions.
• Develop technical architectures and frameworks to support robust IAM strategies across cloud platforms.
• Provide guidance on IAM standards, helping establish best practices within the engineering team.

What Gets You The Job:

• 10+ years in enterprise-level security engineering, with an emphasis on IAM solutions.
• Expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Azure, with experience across AWS and GCP.
• Strong engineering background with hands-on experience developing and deploying IAM capabilities.
• Familiarity with modern authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth2) and IAM technologies (SSO, MFA, RBAC).
• Proven ability to collaborate across engineering and architecture functions to drive IAM solutions.
• Experience with multi-cloud security configurations and identity-based security models.
• Strong communication skills to influence and advise stakeholders across business units.
