WORK SCHEDULE 40 hours per week, Variable Shifts POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Work to maintain campus security and safety through inspection of buildings and grounds Ensure a safe, secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors in a way that promotes the healing and teaching mission of UW Medical Center - Montlake The candidate will possess superior customer service skills, offering support and understanding in dealing with patients, staff, faculty and visitors to the medical center Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Hospital Security team has a crucial role in maintaining a positive, caregiving and welcoming environment at the Montlake campus in a manner that is consistent with UW Medicine Patients Are First Service Culture Guidelines Hospital Security Officers provide assistance and effective problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors throughout the multiple departments of Northwest, in both patient and non-patient areas A dynamic team committed to making continuous improvements, and to protecting and caring for our people and property PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff Conduct preventive security and safety patrols throughout buildings and campus grounds Respond to and investigate security incidents Create clear and timely documentation of incident reports, investigatory interviews, and actions Assume control of emergency situations in cooperation with medical professionals, fire/police agencies, and/or senioradministration Serve as a member of the Fire Control Team and respond to alarms and other emergent situations Provide escorts to patients, visitors, or staff 24 hours a day REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS High School graduation or equivalent; possession of a valid driver's license; no previous felony convictions; AND two years of full-time college in police science or allied field; OR two years of police or campus security experience.
