About the job Phlebotomist This private endocrinology practice is looking for a highly-organized, outgoing and friendly person to serve as its Phlebotomist. This position will be responsible for all blood draws and specimen preparation to support our in-office lab including:•Doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.•Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures•Setting patients at ease and explaining clearly and courteously the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing)•Packaging specimens for transport when needed•Properly storing specimen samples•Answering telephone calls, reading laboratory results upon inquiry•Performing data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner•Maintaining patient and specimen information logs•Providing superior customer service to all patients•Understanding and complying with OSHA regulations•Administrative and clerical duties as necessaryApplicants must have:•High school diploma or equivalent•Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency, preferred•Previous experience as a phlebotomist•Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service•Strong communication and organizational skills
