Manager, Global Business Communications, Nutrition (Human, Animal and Pet nutrition)
Location: Chicago or Decatur, IL.
Job Summary The Manager, Global Business Communications, Nutrition, is responsible for supporting the development and executing internal communication strategies that support the business unit’s goals, drive employee engagement, and promote a strong, cohesive company culture. This role will collaborate with nutrition leadership and other key stakeholders to deliver consistent, engaging, and clear messaging that aligns with the broader company strategy. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills to ensure that employees within the Nutrition Business Unit are well-informed, motivated, and aligned with business priorities. Key Responsibilities Internal Communications Strategy: Support the development and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy specifically for the Nutrition Business Unit, aligning with the broader organizational goals and internal communication efforts. Content Creation & Storytelling: Create compelling content (emails, newsletters, intranet posts, presentations, videos, etc.) that informs and engages employees on updates, initiatives, and successes. Leverage storytelling to highlight key nutrition programs and innovations. Promote employee engagement, recognizing achievements, sharing knowledge, and reinforcing the company culture within the Nutrition Business Unit. Change Management: Support the communication of business changes within Nutrition, such as new product launches, process improvements, organizational changes, or shifts in business strategy. Ensure clarity and consistency in messaging during times of change. Event and Initiative Support: Coordinate internal events, town halls, and employee meetings for Nutrition. Develop communication materials to support these events, ensuring employees are informed and engaged. Channel Management: Manage and optimize the developed content for nutrition within our internal communication channels, including the intranet, email, and digital signage, ensuring the right messages reach the right audiences effectively. Feedback & Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback from employees within the Nutrition Business Unit to assess the effectiveness of internal communication efforts. Use insights to continually improve communication strategies and execution. Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with the broader business communications team, marketing nutrition, and other departments to align messages and ensure that nutrition-related initiatives are consistent with overall company communications. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Experience: 6-8 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related roles. Demonstrated success in developing and executing communication strategies in a complex, matrixed organization. Experience in the nutrition, health, or wellness industry is a plus. Skills & Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and engaging way. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Creative mindset with strong storytelling abilities. Experience managing internal communication platforms (e.g., intranets, email newsletters, digital signage). Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across departments and levels. Experience with change management communication strategies is an asset.
