The Chief Compliance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that an organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and contractual agreements. They are responsible for maintaining ethical standards, minimizing risk, and promoting a culture of integrity throughout the organization.
This role will design, implement, and carry out a program to promote a mentality that encourages a strong commitment to compliance with applicable laws and ethical conduct, including FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act). Provides leadership and guidance surrounding a broad range of legal matters involving privacy, record retention & data security (including cyber security), and sales processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Serves as HGV’s subject matter expert on compliance matters.
Ensures a comprehensive Compliance Management System and Enterprise Risk Management program are in place and operating effectively.
Acts as primary liaison to regulatory agencies and auditors for compliance examinations and audits, ensuring prompt provision of requested materials, and responding to questions and needs for additional information; ensure prompt remediation of issues identified is conducted and documented.
Manages the organization's Corporate Ethics and Government Compliance Programs. Promoting a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making.
Develops and improves company policies and training material related to data handling to outline ethical, safe, and efficient procedures. Ensuring alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices.
Provides oversight of education, training, tools, resources, and other mechanisms that promote a culture that fosters ethical and compliant behavior and that also provides the basis for ensuring adequate internal controls are maintained to effectively mitigate risk to acceptable levels.
Maintains an effective communication plan to promote the awareness and understanding of new and existing issues while also educating the business on new and pending changes to laws, regulations, and standards that impact business operations.
Establishes and coordinates a process for receiving, detailing, tracking, investigating, and taking action on all complaints and inquiries concerning the organization’s privacy policies and procedures in coordination with other similar functions.
Reports on a regular basis to keep the Board and Senior Leadership informed of the operation and progress of compliance and privacy programs.
Maintains global privacy requirements and related procedures, including notice and consent requirements, data transfer requirements, vendor management and similar, etc.
In coordination with senior counsel, serves as a liaison to regulatory and data protection authorities for matters relating to privacy and data protection.
Collaborates with a team to conduct periodic or special investigations on matters involving compliance and/or privacy, including internal investigations.
Partners with Information Technology to support the privacy and record retention process.
Assists in the implementation of organizations cybersecurity, incident response plan.
Partners with the company’s Director of Risk Management and Director of Information Risk Management as appropriate.
Supports and provide expertise to corporate wide projects.

7+ years working experience with Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and California Privacy
Must hold a JD from an accredited institution in the US and has passed a Bar exam.
