The Executive Director for Experiential Education (EDEE) has principal responsibilities for the development, coordination, and quality control of the school’s pharmacy practice experience program and oversees and manages the Office of Experiential Education. The Executive Director holds a faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and, as such, has teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities consistent with a faculty appointment. The Executive Director reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs regarding teaching responsibilities and for all matters related to administrative responsibilities and works with the Chair of Pharmacy Practice to identify, develop, and maintain quality experiential sites for school faculty. The Executive Director works closely with experiential faculty and preceptors to assure optimum student and programmatic outcomes at the experiential sites, both individually and collectively. Qualifications: RPh or PharmD Eligible for licensure in South Carolina Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with campus and external constituents The ability to develop and maintain effective and constructive collaborative relationships with faculty, administration, and preceptors The ability to handle multiple priorities with excellent organizational skills The ability to work independently and as an effective team member A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to off-site locations The Executive Director will: In conjunction with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (ADAA), develop standards for experiential education in delivering curricular goals that ensure compliance with ACPE accreditation requirements Based on input from accreditation standards, practice faculty, and preceptors, assist in the design of required activities on rotations Develop effective methods to evaluate sites, preceptors, and students, adhering to accreditation standards and program assessment requirements Submit to the ADAA and/or the Director of Assessment the necessary data requested regarding the experiential program for all purposes including programmatic assessment and accreditation reports Collect, review, and distribute continuous quality improvement data from sites as part of a comprehensive quality improvement program for the program’s curriculum Collaborate with site preceptors to ensure effective delivery and assessment of the experiential curriculum Work with practice faculty to ensure integration of experiential education with curriculum Work with the Chair of Pharmacy Practice to identify and develop experiential sites in all types of professional practice settings based on established standards and needs of the program Ensure that affiliation agreements are in place with each experiential site Serve as a member of and identify appropriate preceptor membership for the experiential program’s advisory committee Based on input from the advisory committee, develop and implement a continuous preceptor education program to include workshops and/or individual training on syllabus development and program requirements Create an effective evaluation process for preceptors and experiential sites, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and PCSP assessment requirements Screen new preceptors to gather information about their site, practice styles, and patient-care delivery to properly categorize the learning experience and ensure it fits with our needs and expectations Oversee the introductory pharmacy practice experiences (including site selection, student assignments to sites, and student and preceptor/site evaluation) Oversee the advanced pharmacy practice experiences in the fourth professional year (including site selection, student assignments to sites, and student and preceptor/site evaluation) Maintain contact with established sites to:

Enhance working relationships Act as an effective mentor to experiential program preceptors Facilitate student placement Provide clear communication regarding experiential program expectations Resolve site/preceptor issues or other problems that may arise Notify preceptors of changes to accreditation standards and ensure compliance

Conduct and document frequent site visits to ensure program compliance Review all student evaluations of preceptors to ensure site quality and adherence to our requirements and expectations Counsel and advise students in preparation for and during IPPE and APPE placement Collect, review, and distribute preceptor evaluations of students, meeting with students and taking appropriate action as needed to ensure professional and experiential development Monitor student competencies to ensure compliance with syllabus and other requirements Screen, resolve and/or refer problems relating to student performance or other student problems Teach in an area of expertise Identify areas for potential research in the experiential programs Collaborate with other faculty in research relating to experiential programs and/or professional practice Act as an effective representative of the school of pharmacy to professional, consumer, and regulatory (e.g., the SC Board of Pharmacy, South Carolina legislature) groups Assist in planning office-sponsored events such as preceptor training, career fairs, student/preceptor recognition Identify procedures to recognize outstanding preceptors Support and participate in accreditation activities as required Collect data or metrics as required by accrediting agencies Supervise staff assigned to the experiential office TO APPLY: Send a cover letter, résumé and list of three references including contact information to Presbyterian College Office of Human Resources, 503 S.
