What does a Phlebotomist do?

As a Full Time Phlebotomist at LUX Diagnostics, you will serve as the primary liaison between our organization and clients, embodying integrity, enthusiasm, and professionalism. Your role will involve the proper collection of human specimens, including blood, urine, and DNA, while ensuring each specimen is accurately ordered within our LIMS system. You will prepare and secure specimens for transport to our laboratory, reflecting our commitment to quality service. In addition, you will manage inventory control, ordering necessary supplies to support efficient phlebotomy operations.

Adhering strictly to HIPAA confidentiality standards, you will uphold the highest levels of customer service and ethics, making a significant impact on patient care and trust in our healthcare services. Your contributions as a phlebotomist will help shape the experience our clients have at LUX Diagnostics.
What you need to be successful

To thrive as a Full Time Phlebotomist at LUX Diagnostics, several essential skills and qualifications will be necessary. A Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) designation is preferred, along with the completion of an accredited phlebotomy technician program. Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or equivalent healthcare field will serve you well, allowing you to navigate the phlebotomy process with confidence.

Effective time management and prioritization skills are critical, as you'll need to ensure timely collection and preparation of specimens. Additionally, a strong knowledge of draw order and specimen preparation techniques is required to maintain accuracy and integrity throughout the process. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
