Giacare Inc is hiring: Medical Technician (Phlebotomist) in Bedford

In anticipation of a future government contract award, GiaCare Inc. is currently accepting applications for experienced, civilian Medical Technicians (Phlebotomist) in the laboratory at the VA Bedford Medical Center in Massachussets.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of recent phlebotomy experience.
• Technically proficient in the skills necessary to perform services.
• Fluent in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.

Typical Job Duties:

• Perform patient phlebotomy for inpatient ward rounds, outpatient visits, Emergency Department (ED) patients, and STAT, ASAP, and timed draws.
• Positively identify patients prior to sample collection and ensure proper labeling of samples prior to testing or aliquoting.
• Provide patient-centered care in a professional manner, maintaining high standards to avoid complaints from stakeholders and customers.
• Perform sample processing and prepare samples for external testing as needed.
• Safeguard electronic and paper patient information in accordance with VA safety and confidentiality guidelines.
• Identify, document, and resolve issues related to sample collection, processing, testing, or reporting.
• Work in multiple areas of the laboratory based on service needs.
