Job Overview Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the foundation staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. She or he will initially develop deep knowledge of field, core programs, operations, and business plans. Duties 1. Foundation Leadership and Development

– Drive ongoing stable growth for the foundation as well as accountability for assuring the achievement of strategies and key opportunities.

Critical Tasks: Ensure ongoing excellence with local programming, administration, budget management, fundraising, communications, and achievement of strategic goals. Engage and energize foundation volunteers, board and committee members, organization partners, and donors. Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex-officio of each committee; seek and build board involvement with strategic direction. Build programs and partnerships in new markets, establishing relationships with the supporters and community leaders at each targeted area. Develop, organize, plan, and implement Board approved policies and procedures of the SD Parkinson Foundation. Ensure regulatory compliance. Mitigate risk by assuring proper insurance coverage and the provision of a safe workplace and business environment. 2. Foundation Fundraising and Communication

– Drive ongoing foundation fundraising and communications.

Critical Tasks: Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and targeted growth areas. Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand. Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities. 3. Foundation Management

– Effectively and efficiently manage the foundation’s culture, people processes and strategies to consistently achieve expected foundation results.

Critical Tasks: Ensure effective systems to track progress and regularly evaluate program components. Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to the board, Parkinson community, and other constituents. 4. Foundation Staffing

– Assure that the foundation’s staffing is adequate and effective for delivery of the foundation’s performance.

Critical Tasks: Lead, coach, develop, and retain the foundation office team. Qualifications The ED will be thoroughly committed to the foundation’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience. Specific requirements include: Track record of effectively leading a performance and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth. Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation. Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget. Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships. Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people. Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed. Previous Executive Director experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business management preferred. Computer experience and ability to use or learn software programs as required. Flexibility. Local travel required. Job Type: Full-time. Pay: From $24.00 per hour. Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week. Ability to Commute: Sioux Falls, SD 57104 (Required). Ability to Relocate: Sioux Falls, SD 57104: Relocate before starting work (Required). Willingness to travel: 25% (Required).
