Position Description
Under the direction of the KCM Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall implementation of strategic goals and objectives of KCM. With the leadership and guidance of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director assists the Board in fulfilling its governance function. The Executive Director provides direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives.
Specific Responsibilities
Program Management:
Provides day-to-day management of leadership team of KCM including the Director of Finance, Director of IT & Communications, Operations, Program Director, Volunteer program, and Development. Sets performance standards for programs and staff while ensuring high quality service delivery and accountability.
Board Administration and Support:
Supports operations and administration of Board by advising and informing Board members, interfacing between Board and staff, and supporting Board’s evaluation of strategic direction and performance goals for executive staff. Attends all Board meetings and Board committee meetings or ensures able representation. Assists in Board recruitment and meets regularly with congregation partners to maintain positive working relationships.
Program, Product and Service Delivery:
Oversees design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, product and services.
Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management:
Recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages organization’s resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.
Human Resource Management:
Effectively manages the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations.
Community and Public Relations:
Assures the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. Provides leadership on community boards and committees, representing the mission of KCM in a proactive and positive manner. Actively participates in community advocacy activities on behalf of KCM regarding mission-related issues.
Fundraising:
Oversees fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach prospective donors, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation. Maintains consistent contact with donors and sets direction for all requests for funding.
Training and Development:
Attend pertinent training upon the request of the Board of Directors and participate in ongoing agency planning and goal setting, including board development and strategic planning.
Travel:
Travels (day trips, overnight trips, etc.) as required for completion of above listed tasks.
Other Duties:
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Requirements:
