This position is responsible for developing and executing the branch sales strategy within the framework of the Bank’s overall strategy and operational objectives. The Branch Manager develops and manages business and consumer relationships while providing an exceptional customer experience in and out of the branch. The Branch Manager develops and leads a team of employees to ensure the Bank's sales, service and operational requirements are met. The Branch Manager should lead and motivate staff and provide an atmosphere where innovation and creativity are encouraged. This position requires the employee to be registered as a mortgage loan originator with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
Key Accountabilities
Develop and execute a branch sales strategy within the framework of the Bank’s overall strategy and operational objectives.
Develop and maintain a network within the community to enhance the visibility of the Bank and to build a strong referral source for new business.
Possess a clear strategy for developing and maintaining new and existing small business and consumer relationships.
Possess the critical thinking skills to negotiate and close business to meet the needs of the customer and branch sales targets in defined market and business segments.
Be an expert in all Retail Bank products and services and understand bank products and services outside of retail banking. Initiate conversations with customers to create needs-based sales opportunities.
Assist customers in opening accounts, preparing consumer loan applications, closing consumer loans and adding additional service products.
Coach and develop branch staff to understand the products and services in all Bank business lines.
Train branch staff to recognize needs-based sales opportunities and close on said opportunities.
Create a culture of consistent excellent customer service within the Branch that focuses on effective problem resolution and empowers our customers to achieve financial success.
Plan and oversee outbound sales calls by branch employees to prospective and existing customers.
Coach branch staff in career development within the framework of the retail career path.
Develop individual sales goals for each staff member within the framework of the overall branch goal.
Ensure branch operational integrity and that all staff members understand and comply with bank policies and procedures.
Comply with all Retail and Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
Ensure that all security procedures are strictly followed, branch is operationally sound and satisfactory audits are achieved.
Assist in training, implementation, and adherence to new policies and procedures.
Maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations, bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required; 3 to 5 years of business development experience and proven leadership capabilities required.
Extensive knowledge of current banking environment procedures and regulations.
Ability to coach, manage staff and lead sales activities.
Ability to multitask.
Travel is required for training and meetings; must be able to work at any Centreville Bank location as assigned.
Possess the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, and discounts.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach for extended periods of time.
