Description We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Team. The Supplier Quality Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of components and materials sourced from external suppliers. This individual will work closely with suppliers to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, and maintain high standards of product quality throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities: Perform supplier quality assessments and audits to evaluate suppliers' capabilities, processes, and adherence to quality standards. Develop and implement supplier quality management plans to ensure that suppliers meet or exceed quality requirements. Establish and maintain supplier quality metrics and performance indicators to monitor supplier performance and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, engineering, and production, to define quality requirements and specifications for purchased components and materials. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address supplier quality issues and non-conformances. Lead supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and supplier quality improvement initiatives to drive long-term quality improvements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality processes and capabilities, including process optimization and cost reduction efforts. Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers on quality-related matters, including quality system requirements, inspection methods, and problem-solving techniques. Monitor and track supplier performance through regular supplier reviews and scorecards, addressing any performance issues or concerns. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to supplier quality management. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Compliance Quest) and quality assurance principles and practices. Experience conducting supplier audits and assessments, including familiarity with audit methodologies and tools. Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, such as root cause analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex quality issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and implementing quality initiatives to enhance supplier performance. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Supplier Quality Professional) are a plus. Work conditions
