JOB DESCRIPTION: Phlebotomist
Hours:
Full-time - days & evenings
PRN - days & weekends
JOB SUMMARY:
Collects, processes, and delivers specimens to appropriate sections of the Laboratory for testing as ordered by the Physician. Actively participates in outstanding customer service.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Strong communication skills
2. Shows accountability by being trustworthy, responsible, and dependable while taking ownership of actions.
3. Establishes proficiency in collecting patient samples correctly, and proficiency and accuracy with laboratory EMR system for accurate order entry, faxing and printing, and scheduling.
4. Must be comfortable with fast paced environment and be able to multitask.
5. Attention to detail.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through interactions with teams, staff, and management.
7. Exercise independent judgement and can work under minimal supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Phlebotomy training is preferred but not required.
ASCP or AMT Phlebotomy license preferred but not required.
Experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred but not required.
Experience with LIS computer system preferred but not required.
