Job overview: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our manufacturing team as an Entry-Level Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a group of production associates, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the manufacturing process. This role requires a strong combination of leadership skills, technical knowledge, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of production associates to achieve daily production targets.
Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor and enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet established standards.
Collaborate with quality control personnel to address and resolve any issues related to product quality.
Safety Compliance:
Implement and enforce safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all team members.
Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness.
Production Planning:
Collaborate with the production planning team to schedule and prioritize production orders.
Monitor and report on production progress, identifying and addressing any potential constraints.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Training and Development:
Train new team members in manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Foster a learning culture by providing ongoing training and development opportunities to team members.
Qualifications:
High school Diploma or equivalent
1-2 years supervisory/leadership experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Exhibits strong cross-cultural communication skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders across various organizational levels, departments, and cultural backgrounds.
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Pareto charts
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead and guide associates on specific manufacturing lines, including training planning, directing work, and resolving problems.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze information, write reports, and work instructions. Effective presentation and response to questions.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a positive attitude, promote teamwork, and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Health and Safety Conditions:
Awareness of potential work and environmental hazards. Compliance with PPE (personal protective equipment) requirements according to SWI (standard work instructions).
Physical Demands:
Regular use of hands, standing for extended periods up to entire shift, sitting, and lifting to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required.
