POSITION OVERVIEW
The customer service representative will work cooperatively with outside sales and other members of the distribution team to grow existing customers, create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
- Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
- Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
- Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles
- Accurately process customer transactions such as orders or quotes
- Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
- Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to pricing, shipment dates and expected date of delivery
- Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
- Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
- Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
- Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team
- Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 8 years of Customer Service experience preferred
- 2 years of manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
- Responding promptly to customer inquiries.
- Communicating with customers through various channels.
- Acknowledging and resolving customer complaints.
- Knowing our products inside and out so that you can answer questions.
- Processing orders, forms, applications, and requests.
- Keeping records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints.
- Communicating and coordinating with colleagues as necessary.
- Providing feedback on the efficiency of the customer service process.
- Managing a team of junior customer service representatives.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 5 years of Customer Service experience
- Associate degree in a technical-related field from an accredited college
- High school diploma/GED
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- 2 years Salesforce experience
- Previous experience with ERP system
- Proven ability to work independently without supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
This position is available as a remote/hybrid position for the right candidate. The expectation is that the candidate spends any necessary time on site to work with members of the team on projects/initiatives, to be determined by managers. For a hybrid/remote candidate, a laptop and headset will be provisioned. This position might also require travel and flexible hours depending on the time zone in which the candidate is located.
