Salary: $28.05-$31.90

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, supervises, manages, and coordinates the flow of work, information, and assigned staff which contribute to efficient operations and require a thorough understanding of all department programs, policies, and procedures; ensures the public is greeted and provided with appropriate information about all park and recreation programs, rentals, sales, and services available to the community. Maintains sales and attendance records.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:


• Manages the flow of information in assigned area by ensuring the public is greeted and provided with appropriate information; assists the public by answering questions on the daily schedule of activities, programs and facility availability.
•Trains, schedules, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff; provides and/or coordinates staff training and works with employees to correct deficiencies; makes recommendations for new hires and terminations. Assigns tasks, projects, and monitors the work performance of assigned staff; performs backup support as needed.
•Prepares daily, monthly, or special reports which include purchase orders, cash sales summaries, and class registrations and attendance; collects and verifies daily revenues. Completes cash, check, and credit card transactions; acts as liaison to Country Treasurer; and provides input on the annual budget for front desk operations during the fiscal year.
•Records all transactions, rentals, and facility use on computerized check-in system; initiates and maintains a variety of corporate accounts; ensures that accounts have been billed; and monitors and manages assigned correspondence, account modifications, and related information.
•Manages and maintains specialized department software applications, ensures all program information/data is properly entered, recorded and distributed to assigned budget line items; and ensures monthly and yearly usage and data reports are completed and provided to Management Team.
•Purchases and maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment for the Recreation Center front desk, lobby, and meeting rooms.
•Opens facility at assigned time Monday through Friday; available to work ‘on call’ schedule as assigned.
•Responds to public inquiries in a courteous manner and resolves complaints in a timely and efficient manner.
•Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or related field
•3+ years of experience in area of expertise which includes administrative and supervisory duties (OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience)

Required Licenses and Certifications:
•CPR/First Aid Certification required within six months of hire date.
•Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.

 

Required Knowledge of:
•Principles and practices of effective leadership, supervision and training.
•Federal, State, and local wage laws and regulations.
•Accounting and fiscal management practices and regulations.
•Principles and procedures of recordkeeping, reporting and retention.
•Principles and practices used in dealing with the public.
•Recreation Center programs and special events including schedules and tournament brackets.
•Modern office procedures, methods, and equipment.

 

Required Skills in:
•Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely.
•Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software such as Microsoft Office and some specialized software; functioning standard office equipment.
•Providing quality customer service.
•Managing cash drawers and financial transactions.
•Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.


Physical Demands/Work Environment:
•Work is performed in a standard office environment and throughout the Community Recreation Center.
