The Accounting Department at AKRF is seeking an Accounting Intern to work 24-30 hours beginning 2025 and the internship may continue through the summer. This position will be in our New York City Office. Job Responsibilities: Record financial transactions accurately and efficiently into the accounting system. Verify, process, and reconcile Vendor invoices and payments. Verify, process, and reconcile Clients' payments. Assist in maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable records. Perform data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks related to accounting. Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support. Collaborate with team members to resolve accounting discrepancies and issues. Essential Requirements: Enrolled in an accounting or finance-related degree program: pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Familiarity with basic accounting concepts, financial statements, and accounting software is essential. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies and procedures. Perform other basic accounting and finance-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Proficient in performing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficient in managing large volumes of data and maintaining accurate records. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in handling sensitive financial information. Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis and assessment of customer accounts. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Ability to adapt to changing regulations, procedures, and software systems. Willingness to learn and implement new collection strategies and tools.
