Job Description
We are offering a contract to full-time opportunity for an Accounting Supervisor position in Spring, TX. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the company's financial operations to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations. You will also oversee the daily accounting functions of the organization. The position is fully onsite, Monday-Friday from 8-5.
Responsibilities:
• Maintains and updates accounting records by performing duties such as recording and posting transactions in journals and the general ledger for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
• Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
• Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports.
• Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.
• Mitigates legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures.
• Maintains bank account records; reconciles bank accounts and balances.
• Follows up to resolve errors and discrepancies in accordance with established procedures.
• Assists in the preparation for audit and the production of financial statements, budgets and other financial reports.
• Prepares and issues invoices and follows up on late accounts in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain all tax reports, payroll, annual company returns and all other required tax reporting with Local, State and Federal governments.
• Any other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• 5 years’ experience required with a degree; 10 years’ experience required without a degree
• Computer literacy required: Working knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel, Sage 50 (Peachtree)
• Management / leadership experience preferred
• Positive attitude, exemplary attendance and reliable team member
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to work independently, with little supervision
