Job Details:
Our well-established company is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Analyst. This role is a unique blend of Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA), providing an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to utilize and enhance their skills in both areas. As an Accounting Analyst, you will be a key player in our finance department, with responsibilities that span across both accounting and financial planning. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Analyst, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Preparing and recording journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information
2. Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts.
3. Assisting in the preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including variance reports.
4. Assisting in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
5. Supporting budget and forecasting activities.
6. Collaborating with the other finance department team members to support overall department goals and objectives.
7. Advising staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
8. Responding to inquiries from the director of finance, company-wide manager, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Accounting Analyst position will have the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting. Also willing to look at candidates straight out of public accounting.
3. Proven experience with journal entries.
4. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
5. Strong understanding of accounting theory and financial planning.
6. High attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills.
9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
