Job Title: Tax Manager
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Work Model: Hybrid
Base Salary: $120,000-$140,000/year
Job Overview:
As a Tax Manager, you’ll provide comprehensive tax services to a diverse client base, leveraging technical expertise, analytical skills, and strong client relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Lead the preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.
- Tax Planning and Consulting: Develop tax strategies to align with client financial goals, minimize liabilities, and maximize savings, covering areas such as entity structuring, M&A, and international tax.
- Research and Analysis: Stay current on tax laws and provide well-informed guidance through in-depth research on tax issues to support client decisions.
- Client Relationships: Serve as a trusted tax advisor, building strong client relationships and delivering customized solutions.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff on technical skills and professional development, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Quality Control and Risk Management: Maintain strict quality standards, identifying risks and compliance issues per professional standards and firm policies.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in tax compliance and consulting in public accounting.
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
- Proficient in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, UltraTax) and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple engagements.
