Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Reporting directly to the CFO, this newly created role focuses on managing the monthly close process, financial statement preparation, and supporting audit requirements. The company will be transitioning to a new ERP system in the second half of this year and this person will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of this system. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, hardworking individual with a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting • Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP. • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. • Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. • Assist with monthly / quarterly memo to the board of directors and ownership.

2. Audit and Compliance • Coordinate and support annual audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations. • Ensure proper documentation of all accounting records and transactions for audit and compliance purposes. • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to GAAP. • Provide technical accounting guidance to the team and address complex accounting issues.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. • Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to management. • Build models to analyze and justify capital project.

4. Process Improvement • Play key role in the design and implementation of a new ERP system. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function. • Stay current with changes in GAAP and other accounting standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA required. • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience. • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. • Experience with SAP Business One and Quickbooks is an advantage. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Oil and gas experience is an advantage.
