Job Description
We are opening a position for an Accounting Manager in Powhatan, Virginia, United States. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in handling all financial aspects, managing accounts receivable and payable, overseeing payroll and insurance administration, and maintaining business licenses and filings. This role is pivotal in our industry, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial transactions and record keeping.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the management of accounts receivable and payable to ensure smooth financial operations
• Handle business insurance administration tasks and manage company health insurance plans
• Execute payroll and payroll taxes, and process returns accurately
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Manage and troubleshoot software systems related to accounting functions
• Ensure compliance with workers compensation, general liability audits, and SCC filings
• Oversee cash flow management, including the establishment and maintenance of credit for loans, credit lines, and vendor open accounts
• Administer business licenses and handle audit processes
• Leverage knowledge of Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, and Peachtree Sage for efficient financial operations
• Conduct auditing tasks and manage billing functions as per industry standards.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Bachelor's Degree or 10+ years of accounting experience is required,
• Excellent understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Ability to oversee Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrable experience in Auditing
• In-depth knowledge of Billing Functions
• Proficiency in using Peachtree Sage software
