Job Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Lake City, Florida. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience or a rising Staff Accountant with small team supervisory experience. This role focuses on the execution and management of accounting policies, procedures, and control systems. The role's key functions include ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies while maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and management reports.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications
• Maintain and update changes to Division's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Propose recommendations for improvements to accounting policies and procedures
• Oversee month-end closing procedures, including inventory listings, margin reports, and assisting with commission calculations
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned general ledger accounts for the Supply Division
• Prepare all assigned journal entries for the Supply Division
• Handle preparation and filing of state and local sales tax returns for all states where business is conducted
• Assist with review of Supply Accounts Payable and Supply Accounts Receivable open balances
• Support with preparation and review of supporting documentation for internal and external audits
• Assist with inventory schedules, inventory cycle counts, and physical counts
• Mentor, coach, and develop Accounting and Admin Staff through orientation, training, communication of policies and rules, and constructive discipline
• 7+ years of demonstrated experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the accounting sector
• Proficiency in using Dynamics SL and Dynamics 365
• Practical knowledge and experience in conducting Annual Physical Inventory and Cycle Count
• Expertise in Accrual Accounting, demonstrating a deep understanding of the principles and practices
• Solid experience managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity and experience with Order Management processes and systems
• Proven ability to handle month-end close procedures
