The Senior Accounting Manager is an integral part of the Company and will be responsible for supporting the Controller in overseeing all accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with budget process. This includes managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, providing insight/recommendations to the finance team for the annual budget and developing strategies to improve the financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the Controller to manage and oversee the accounting team taking a "hands on" approach to accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and general ledger functions. Support and advise senior management with timely and insightful reporting and commentary on monthly financial results supporting operational management. Support senior management in driving performance against financial and operating benchmarks and forecasts. Support the financial close and reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP. Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Partner with outside tax consultants to assist with the annual tax preparations. Support the external audit preparation and execution with outside auditors. Participate in ongoing efforts to drive cost and waste out of the organization. Monitor cash flow, approving cash disbursements. and transfers, including signatory authority. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Supervise and mentor accounting staff. Conduct financial analysis, modeling, and cost management. Other duties as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting. Masters degree is highly preferred. Prefer CPA certification. Public accounting experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience Ability to implement/improve processes and internal controls. Industry experience in wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting, including consolidations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
