Join our small yet dynamic accounting department at a reputable law firm in Emeryville. We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor/Manager who will play a pivotal role in leading a team of two professionals, including a Bookkeeper and CPA, and interfacing with and Senior Accountant and Accounting Specialist. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact as we transition from QuickBooks and oversee the integration of new accounting systems.

Law firm accounting experience required.

This role is based in Emeryville and is a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Integration Oversight: Manage the transition from QuickBooks to a new accounting system, ensuring a smooth integration process.
• Database Management: Oversee the migration and management of QuickBooks databases hosted on the server.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for the Managing Partner and other stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the offsite Bookkeeper and CPA to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices within the department.

Qualifications:

• Experience in accounting supervision or management, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and accounting software integration.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and manage remote team members effectively.
• No degree required; relevant experience is valued.
