BMS Moving & Storage, Agents for Bekins Van Lines, within the Bekins/Wheaton system, one of America’s largest and most respected moving and storage companies, is seeking a talented, resourceful and committed Assistant Controller to join our fast-paced energetic team!

As our Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for helping to manage the daily accounting, billing and financial operations. This includes but is not limited to, maintaining a close eye on the organization's finances, overseeing daily accounting and billing operations, and leadership and development of the team.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, and various special analyses
• Assist the CFO in improving efficiencies and reducing costs through effective budgeting and analysis
• Manage accounting department, ensuring accurate posting and reporting of business financial activities
• Maintain documented system of accounting policies and operations
• Process accounts and collecting payments
• Select, train, develop, and coach accounting and billing team
• Prepare quarterly/annual financial reports
• Manage the quarterly/annual budgets and forecasts

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA designation is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Office skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop the finance and billing team.
• Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
