Job Description
Francis Parker School of Louisville seeks a full-time Accounting Manager. Francis Parker School of Louisville is a coed Independent School founded in the Progressive tradition that is committed to equity and justice in Louisville, KY. and is located on two campuses -- Goshen (Preschool-8th) and Downtown (High School).
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely accounting of the financial operations of the School. The position reports directly to the Associate Head of School - Finance & Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately maintain all accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, general ledger, fund accounts, endowment, and depreciation schedule
- Process bi-weekly payroll and all payroll related changes; prepare all journal entries and record payroll activity in general ledger, reconcile general ledger payroll expense with quarterly 941 tax filings
- Prepare, record and process all benefit plan payments
- Process accounts payable invoice payments on a timely basis
- Prepare and maintain student enrollment spreadsheets; prepare and distribute annual and monthly tuition and fee billings
- Set up and manage parent accounts for monthly ACH payments
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and update monthly statement of cash flows
- Prepare all schedules as needed by the public accounting firm for the annual financial audit
Strong customer service skills are also required, as well as the interest in developing and practicing cultural competence. At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting are required, non-profit accounting preferred.
