Tri-State Equipment Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented accounting intern (3rd or 4th year) to join our team. There is a lot of exciting growth and update going on with our accounting and finance area, and the intern will be in the thick of it. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge to practical accounting tasks and gain valuable experience in a professional setting.
What You'll Do:
- Assist with accounts receivable processes, including invoicing clients, tracking payments, and resolving discrepancies.
- Learn about basic cost accounting concepts and perform job costing tasks.
- Work on credit card reconciliations and monthly expense reporting.
- Gain hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks and NetSuite.
- Prepare invoices from sales orders and enter vendor bills.
- Participate in vendor setup and assist with bi-weekly vendor payments.
- Fixed asset entry and tracking.
- Project work for acquisitions.
- Assist with generating reports as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year accounting program at an accredited college or university (previous internship experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g., debits, credits, general ledger).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and work independently with close supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
