We are in the process of hiring an Accounting/Grants Manager based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The individual will be primarily responsible for managing the accounting functions and overseeing the grants within our organization. This role will involve maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.


Responsibilities:


• Lead the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports in compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.


• Conduct account reconciliations and oversee month-end close processes.


• Manage the annual budgeting and audit cycles.


• Handle financial records, grant budgets, and reports for all federal and state grants in line with applicable regulations.


• Ensure timely submission of all grant reporting to federal and state agencies.


• Process accounts payable and conduct monthly statement reviews to resolve any billing issues.


• Oversee accounts receivable, report and perform collections on aging balances as necessary.


• Maintain and reconcile restricted net asset schedules.


• Coordinate with the Executive Director to create and maintain annual budgets and projection models.


• Act as a liaison to external grant agency officers, sub-awardees, and cohorts.


• Prepare and process payroll for employees and maintain all payroll records.


• Collaborate with administrative vendors and external partners including banking, HR, benefits, payroll, retirement plans, insurance brokers, and real estate managers as required.


• Perform annual audit preparations and submittals.

• Must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Experience with Billing Functions is a requirement
• Should have knowledge of Full Cycle Accounting
• Prior experience with Foundation Grants is necessary
• Experience with Government Grants is a plus
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
• Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is desirable
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations applicable to our industry.
