· Direct, monitor, and evaluate the activities and performance off the accounting staff and department systems and processes
· Oversee and participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, including the review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions, and eliminations.
· Review and analyze journal ledger activity for multiple related companies.
· Prepare monthly financial reporting, conduct analysis and respond to inquiries.
· Hands on preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (and footnotes) for bank lenders and Executive Management.
· Implement and own company accounting policies.
· Provide technical and operational accounting guidance.
· Support financial forecasts and development of the annual five-year business plan, including balance sheet and cash flows.
· Lead manual labor and overhead standard cost calculations for product costing.
· Lead and direct year-end audit with external certified public accountant (CPA) firm.
· Interface frequently with management to exchange and report information and key projects/ status updates and resolve operational issues.
· Work collaboratively with internal departments breaker (financial and non-financial), support change initiatives to improve profitability and cash flow performance, as well as overall organizational health.
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance.
- Minimum 8-10 years of general accounting experience, including private company experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing an accounting department, including supervision of staff
- Experience working with integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and financial reporting systems to facilitate monthly and annual close.
- Ability to navigate and comprehend the complex ownership/ Organization structure.
- Exceptional knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) including journal entry and account reconciliation preparation, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and external audits.
- Knowledge of project reporting including fixed cost.
- Proven ability to hire, develop, coach, train and lead a team or department.
- Well-organized with demonstrated success in driving innovation and overseeing multiple projects.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Can easily transition between detail and higher level analysis.
- Must possess the ability to adapt to change, manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with Epicor/CMS ERP system.
- Certified public accountant (CPA).
