We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Director of Accounting in the Financial Services industry in Chicagoland. This role involves overseeing our accounting department, managing our corporate financing, and working with both onsite and remote teams to ensure the financial planning, execution, and administration of our bank & loan services.


Responsibilities:


• Supervise the preparation of financial statements, summaries, and other cost-benefit analyses and financial management reports.

• Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, tax compliance, and annual audit.

• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.

• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.

• Build and manage the company's loan portfolio, conduct detailed risk assessments, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, department budgets, and maintaining their documentation and filing systems.

• Provide regular updates to the executive management team on changes in financial regulations, industry trends, and potential opportunities or threats.

• Review reports to analyze financial status, projections, and any potential areas for improvement.

• Utilize accounting software systems to manage and process financial transactions.

• Apply knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures in the financial services industry.

• Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role within the financial services industry.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Software Systems is essential.

• Experience with BlackLine and Concur software is highly desirable.

• Must be familiar with CRM systems and their application in the financial services industry.

• Demonstrable experience in managing Accounting Functions is necessary.

• Must have experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience in Auditing and maintaining compliance with financial regulations is required.

• Must be proficient in managing and implementing Budget Processes.

• A professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred.

• Advanced knowledge of financial regulations, legislation, and best practices.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to manage a team and foster a collaborative working environment.
