Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director of Accounting/Finance is responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, administering and processing receipts, accounts payable, campaign accounting records, grant transactions and annual budget setup and maintenance. A successful Director of Accounting will maintain and process time reporting and payroll processing; ensure reconciliation of agency benefit plans to remittances; serve as liaison to BBBS of America for financial reporting and compliance with standards; and recommend improvements in all processes for which responsible. This position is responsible for maintaining a company's accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow, and revenue and the applicable systems as well as preparing documents and reconciliations for year-end audit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Supports organizations financial objectives by providing financial analysis
- Maintain financial systems that are accurate with appropriate internal controls.
- Oversees accounting, finance, including inter-company accounting, review and preparation of financial statements, monthly closing journal entries, balance sheet management, income statement, and variance analysis
- Maintain Bank and Ledger reconciliations
- Receive, process, and deposit checks
- Manage the bi-weekly accounts payable expenditure process and timely payment to vendor and employees
- Coordinate provision of information to external auditors in connection of annual financial audit
- Prepare accounts receivable reconciliation and work closely with Development Department on monthly revenue and status of open AR within Salesforce.
- Maintain record of campaign pledges and payments
- Monthly financial reporting to BBBS of America
- Administer and maintain time reporting and payroll systems, initiate bi-weekly payroll processing and reconcile benefit spending
- Assist in preparation of annual budget, quarterly and annual forecast projections
- Maintain Fixed Asset Records and prepare Property Tax Returns
- Review and process the company corporate card account
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
- Effectively accomplish other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field
- CPA or pursuit of CPA preferred
- Master’s in accounting preferred
- Minimum of 7+ years relevant accounting experience in non-profit or corporate environment with 1-2 years as Accounting Manager
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Salesforce
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in ADP Workforce Now Payroll systems
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Accufund, Sage Intacct Accounting/Finance, Concur, Ramp expense management systems
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Requires the use of standard office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, and printer)
- This position reports to our headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Hybrid schedule
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position is a primarily sedentary position
- May occasionally require bending, reaching and lifting of moderately heavy objects such as computers or peripherals.
