We are a industry leader for commercial kitchen supplies seeking a skilled Accounting Specialist for our growing team. This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to general Full Cycle accounting, assist with monthly sales tax filing preparation and maintaining accurate records. Job qualifications include being detail-oriented, motivated, and having accounting experience. Successful candidates must possess the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
Responsibilities:
A/P
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments
- Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports
- Match invoices with supporting documentation and obtain proper approvals
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Other office duties as needed
A/R
- Process service tickets in our system to generate invoices
- Record payments from customers to various accounts
- Bank Recon for deposits to ensure all payments received are recorded
- Month End Statements processing and support for questions from customers
- Prepare daily check deposits and enter into system
- Take Credit Card payments / Post daily batches
Misc.
- Monitor and resolve issues from email accounts
- Preparation of Commission Statements and various reports for manufacturers
- Bank Reconciliation and review of discrepancies
- Special projects as related to accounting
Qualifications:
- Technical accounting knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles
- Ideally familiar with Sage100
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Experience with account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation
- Ability to perform 10-key typing with speed and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
