JOB SUMMARYThe Accounting Manager is responsible for all financial reporting, forecasting, and cash management for a portfolio of 14 properties plus other communities as assigned. The Manager reports to the Property Controller and has 2 direct reports. The position is in the Scottsdale, AZ corporate office.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise two other property accountants' work in preparing monthly financial reports, including detailed financial packages.
- Responsible for preparing financial statements per GAAP and compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for meeting all external financial reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare monthly community report variance analysis, assist with annual budgets, and other periodic reporting.
- Monitor community cash activity on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Oversee cash flow forecasts as needed.
- Oversee the completion of bank account reconciliations, JEs, and other monthly accounting activities, including the review of all accounting packages.
- Responsible for assuring that all community accounting records and documentation are maintained properly.
- Oversee the tracking of all community capital expenditures and related fixed asset schedules.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activity, which are conducted at each community by the community's Business Office Director. This will require direct communication and coordination with the community senior leadership team.
- Cogir uses most Yardi modules, including Rent Café.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- At least 2 to 5 years of relevant managerial experience.
- Yardi software experience is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Strong communication and management skills, including driving collaboration and teamwork with other team members.
- Strong Excel skills.
