Accounting Specialist Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine clerical accounting duties within a fast-paced finance department while adhering to established standards
• Work with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Match, batch, and code vendor invoices
• Process incoming payments by check, credit card, and EFT.
• Receive, process, and reconcile vendor statements.
• Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and sales tax computations
• Generate and review monthly AP and AR reports.
• Prepare and make bank deposits.
• Assist with preparation for annual audits.
• Assist with preparation of annual IRS forms.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures.
• Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
• Perform administrative and other tasks as needed.

Accounting Specialist Qualifications/Skills:

• Natural proficiency with math
• Knowledge of basic financial, tax, and accounting principles
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel.
• Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability
• Continue training with classes, workshops, and networking events

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 1-3 years of general accounting experience
• 1-3 years of experience working with accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, preferred

Experience working within an ERP software suite

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,500.00 - $57,500.00 per year
