Position Overview:

The Accounting Analyst plays a key role in supporting the administrative, sales and operations teams. This position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reconciling various data, maintaining accurate databases, pricing updates, assisting in budget preparation, and contributing to financial strategy through detailed analysis. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and the willingness to support multiple administrative areas on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting and Pricings:
  • Ensure accurate database pricing and assist with database management.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in various systems (Connectwise, QuoteWerks, Business Central 365, and BrightGuage).
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis to compare actual results to budget and prior periods.
  • Provide insight into financial performance, trends, and forecasts to support decision-making.

Data Analysis and Financial Modeling:

  • Analyze data to identify trends, variances, and insights for business improvement.
  • Build and maintain models to support strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and stakeholders.

General Ledger and Reconciliations:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data.
  • Track and support maintenance of recurring revenue streams
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for key accounts, such as cash, inventory, and intercompany balances, resolving discrepancies as needed.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and document accounting procedures and workflows to streamline operations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with the finance team and departmental managers to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor actual expenses and revenues against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Assist in implementing budget controls and identifying opportunities for cost savings.

Audit Support and Compliance:

  • Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards in financial reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining internal control procedures to enhance financial accuracy and safeguard company assets.

Ad Hoc Tasks and Reporting:

  • Participate in special projects as assigned, market research, and capital expenditure analysis.
  • Prepare custom reports and analysis based on management needs and strategic objectives.
  • Provide backup for other administrative functions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a related role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., e.g., Business Central, Connectwise, Quotewerks) and advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting processes.
  • Certification: CPA, CFA, or CMA certification is a plus.
