About The Role

This position is responsible for assisting the Finance team in the portfolio accounting process for more than a dozen private investment partnerships, the payment controls related to these private investments and general administrative/accounting tasks of the team as a whole.

Duties and Responsibilities

Portfolio Accounting

  • Assist in the review of quarterly/monthly net asset values and investor statements for the private investment funds
  • Collaborate with the private investment team to determine internal capital calls and distributions for the private investment funds
  • Initiate capital calls and distributions with our fund administrator; perform the first review of accounting calculations received from the administrator; perform review of investor notices for accuracy
  • Compile all information and notices received from underlying managers; communicate the details via emails to internal and external teams, such as private investment, finance, operations, and fund administration
  • Review management fees and performance measurement

Payment Controls

  • Assist in coordinating cash movement authorizations with the operations team, including payables, management fees, subscriptions, redemptions and distributions
  • Assist in the administration of the private fund credit facilities with lender for the various private funds, including the compilation of supporting calculations for amounts to be drawn, initiate payoffs and ensuring interest is accurately deducted on a monthly basis
  • Monitor capital calls, distributions and investments related to underlying managers and help coordinate cash flows for such
  • Work with the Finance team and 3rd party tax providers in completing estimated and annual state tax payments for the private funds

Experience, Education and Skills

  • Zero to three years of relevant experience
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Business analysis and reporting skills
  • Organized and detail oriented while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office required
  • General ledger experience preferred
  • Ability to learn specialized systems and software quickly
