**Job Title: Project Accountant Assistant

**Employment Type:** Contract to Hire or Direct Hire

**Work Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

**Location:** Fully onsite in Santa Fe Springs

**Experience Required:** At least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry

Pay: $25-29/hour, based on experience
 

As a Project Accountant Assistant, your primary role is to assist the Project Accountants and Job Cost Manager in monitoring the profitability of jobs within your assigned region. You will also handle the daily processing of invoices.

 

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure compliance and process their payments.

- Collect supporting documents for Time and Materials billing.

- Issue and track subcontractor change orders.

- Act as a liaison between subcontractors, project accountants, and project managers/project engineers.

- Post daily cost accruals.

- Assist project managers with contract billing processes.

- Provide administrative support for various projects and backup reception support.

- Assist in collection efforts to minimize overdue accounts receivable balances.

 

Qualifications

- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience.

- Experience in processing subcontractor payments is preferred.

- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Excellent organizational skills.

- Strong communication and writing skills.

- Detail-oriented.

- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- Ability to analyze data.

- Team player.

- Capable of performing analysis of spreadsheets related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting. This includes calculating figures and amounts such as unit of measure issues, discounts, and taxes.



Pay Details: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour
