Salary: $18-$25 per hour

We envision a world where men of color are overrepresented in higher education, underrepresented in the criminal justice system, and leaders in their communities. Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Coordinator. The Accounting Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and grant management processes.


Responsibilities include:

  • Collect and organize copies of receipts for expenses associated with grant activities.
  • Retrieve timecards and paystubs for grant reporting purposes.
  • Assist in creating functional timesheets and ensuring accuracy of reported hours.
  • Handle bank deposits and maintain proper documentation.
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable as needed.
  • Reconcile donations and other payments received with staff from various departments.
  • Generate basic reports such as expenses incurred and overtime expenses, and distribute them to department leads.
  • Act as a problem solver, addressing issues and inquiries related to financial transactions.
  • Assist with pulling data during audits and providing necessary documentation.
  • Assist with special requests from different stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Proficient in reconciling financial accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Skilled in identifying discrepancies and resolving errors in financial records.
  • Experienced in cross-referencing ledger balances, bank statements, and other financial data.
  • Adept at preparing detailed reconciliation reports for management review.

 

Education 

  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred 


Experience 

  • 0-1 Years previous financial experience or experience in an office type setting is a plus.


Computer Skills 

  • G-suite
  • Basic computer skills


Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, some weekends, evenings and organization-wide events are required.


Pay Rate:

$18 - $25 per hour


Benefits:

Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life AD&D, Voluntary Life AD&D, EAP and a 403(b) retirement with 3% employer match after one year of employment. There is also 2 weeks of accrued paid vacation and paid time off for school breaks. 


Location

This position works 100% out of the HQ office in Sacramento.
