About the Opportunity:
I am working with a fast-growing construction company seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager with a strong background in construction accounting. This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to take the lead in managing day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with industry-specific standards.
Job Overview:
As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee the company’s accounting processes, including project cost tracking, financial reporting, and compliance with construction-specific accounting practices. You’ll manage a small team and work closely with project managers and leadership to ensure that financial information is accurate, timely, and aligns with overall business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Oversee job costing and ensure accurate tracking of project costs and WIP schedules.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring alignment with construction accounting standards.
- Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, with a focus on construction project profitability.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, industry regulations, and internal control procedures.
- Coordinate and assist with external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Provide financial analysis related to project performance, cash flow, and cost management.
- Lead, train, and mentor the accounting team to enhance performance and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Strong experience in corporate accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Construction industry experience is preferred, not required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Software: Sage 300 & Procore is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
