Job Description
Summary/Objective:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for areas relating to the accounting function and financial reporting. This position is responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks and activities. This position is a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger analysis, financial reporting, year-end review preparation and the support of budget, forecast, and other reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management and Reporting
• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and annual budgets
• Establish and maintain internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant financial reporting standards
• Manage cash flow, including monitoring income, financial commitments, and banking requirements
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
• Maintain fixed assets records and manage depreciation calculations
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual review process
2. Team Leadership and Development
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting department, including but not limited to senior accountants, accountants, accounting clerk, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other accounting team members.
• Establish performance goals and conduct regular evaluations
• Identity training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities for team members
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the accounting department
3. Process Improvement and Compliance
• Analyze departmental workflows to enhance efficiency while maintaining accuracy and internal controls
Stay current with changes in accounting standards and tax regulations
Manage tax planning throughout the fiscal year and assist with annual corporate tax return filing
• Implement and maintain accounting software systems
4. Strategic Planning and Analysis
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
• Analyze job costing transactions and monitor project profitability
• Develop and present short- and long-term financial objectives and policies to leadership
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insight and support overall goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; master's degree preferred≤
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a management role
- CPA certification preferred
- strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations and financial reporting standards
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills

Interdepartmental Collaboration:
This role requires close collaboration with all departments to provide financial support and insights. The Accounting Manager will work particularly closely with the Controller and executive leadership.
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
• Eight years or more of related experience is required.
• Certified Public Accountant designation preferred but not a requirement.
