SUMMARY//

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our financial operations. This position would manage and mentor other accounting professionals who support the department's objectives. The ideal candidate will be adept at data analysis and will play a key role in shaping our financial strategy. The Accounting Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial performance and drive efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of financial accountability. Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly are essential.

The Front Climbing Club was Utah's first indoor rock climbing gym, and one of the first in the nation. The Front Climbing Clubs are lifestyle gyms that include, Cafes, Yoga, Group fitness, beautiful recreational areas and more! You will split your time between it and its sister company, Vertical Solutions.

Vertical Solutions is the largest domestic climbing wall builder and offers everything needed to get climbers off the ground - walls, holds and pads.

RESPONSIBILITIES//

  • Oversee and work in daily operations including accounts payable and receivables, payroll, depreciations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring timely and accurate work production
  • Lead cross-functional projects and semester planning for the Accounting Department and facilitates the completion of team outcomes
  • Monitor organizational spending, cash flow, working capital, and provide recommendations to optimize financial resources
  • Prepare and submit regular financial statements and reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory compliance based on high reporting standards, including sales and tax filings
  • Prepare and submit regular financial statements and tax filings, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Provides financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth
  • Manage the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Collaborates closely with ownership to develop and maintain financial budgets, forecasts, and business plans that align with the companies' unique vision and goals
  • Utilizes job costing techniques to accurately track project expenses, enabling effective budgeting and financial analysis for improved profitability
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS//

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years' experience in accounting with 1+ years' experience in Accounting Management
  • Demonstrable experience in financial project planning or a strong background in job costing for construction projects.
  • 2+ years of QuickBooks Experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP).
  • Proficient in using accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic financial guidance and support to entrepreneurs.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors and fitness industry

WORKING ENVIORMENT//

The typical working environment for the Accounting Manager is a dynamic, office-based setting at the SLC Gym with the Accounting and Operations Departments. They interact with various departments and employees, requiring communication and collaboration across teams. The role involves managing day to day accounting operations and multiple projects simultaneously and executing according to approved timelines.


Pay Range: $80,000-90,000
