Job Description
Department: Accounting
Job Summary
Responsible for providing financial and administrative support by reconciling and analyzing assigned ledgers, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Principal Responsibilities
- Analyze Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable ledgers to ensure accuracy of company invoicing and communicate discrepancies both internally and externally
- Reconcile and apply payments received from clients and insurance carriers
- Prepare premium payments to assigned insurance carriers within specific deadlines
- Research and respond to internal and external clients on a variety of accounting inquiries
- Prepare daily and monthly financial reports using the Accounting system and Excel
- Assist with other Accounting/Financial functions as needed, including billing, filing and various profit center analysis
Other Functions
- Attend meetings, in-house training or other business events
- Stay up to date on responsibilities, tasks and procedures for the Accounting department
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Strong financial and accounting skills including the ability to analyze data and problem solve.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct business and perform job responsibilities with the highest level of confidentiality, discretion and trust.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a high attention to detail and dedication to producing an accurate and timely work product.
- Independent, flexible, self-starter who can multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate or higher Excel skills
- Experience in the insurance industry and/or with Sagitta or other large agency management systems a plus
Working Conditions
Office environment with moderate noise level; able to work flexible hours if needed.
