In this hands-on Accounting Manager role, you will be responsible for A/R, A/P, payroll, bank reconciliations, grant billings and compliance, and maintaining account reconciliations. You will also supervise and develop the finance team, coordinate with other departments/functions, and support organizational goals. In collaboration with the Senior Director of Finance and Operations you will support the annual budgeting and audit process as well as develop and update financial policies to support sound fiscal management across the organization.
Here’s a sample of what you’ll be doing:
- Perform the primary financial operational duties including accounts receivable and payables, payroll, bank reconciliations, grant accounting, and grant and contract compliance.
- Direct and supervise the work of subordinate staff; establish staffing and scheduling requirements; recommend various personnel actions, including selection, promotion, reassignment and discipline. Train or provide for the training of subordinate employees.
- Develop staff work plans, monitor plans against actual progress, and assesses employees’ performance against goals and objectives, coordinate finance activities with other departments and Leadership Team members.
- Prepare, maintain and follow-up on all accounts receivable and grant billings.
- Reconcile all bank and other financial accounts on a monthly basis, and quickly follow up on any issues.
- Ensure that all accounts payable and payroll are accurately submitted and approved timely.
- Work with the Senior Director of Finance and Operations on the preparation of Elevate Health’s annual budget and audit.
- Responsible for the ongoing development and updates of Elevate Health’s financial policies and procedures manual.
- Assume responsibility for the correct and accurate accounting classifications of all revenue and expenditures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or another related field required.
- 3 – 5 years of managing and supervising a finance department required.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- Experience with and strong understanding of general ledger and multiple-coding account structures.
- Able to work with and understand different types of documents.
- Experience successfully managing a variety of different projects while managing staff.
- Track record of effectively training accounting staff.
- Experience working directly with, presenting to, and engaging people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with diverse grant fund accounting preferred.
- Experience working with auditors preferred.
- Non-profit accounting experience preferred.
