Accounting – Internship Program:
12 Week Program
At Legence Bank, we integrate academic learning with practical application in preparation for your career. The design of our internship program is for an individual who wants to gain hands-on experience and relatable skills along with helping achieve their professional goals.
The Accounting Internship will be an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and deepen one’s knowledge into the administration and maintenance of an organization’s finances. This track allows the participant to learn what it takes for a business to function properly, while also making strategic and responsible fiscal decisions.
- Week 1 – Company Overview – Learn the Brand, Vision and Strategy
- Week 2 – Understanding The Balance Sheet
- Week 3 – Accounts Payable – Managing Expenses
- Week 4 – Investment Strategy
- Week 5 – Income Strategy – How Does A Bank Make Money?
- Week 6 – Loan Accounting & Portfolio Diversification
- Week 7 – Call Report, Bank Performance, and Regulatory Ratios
- Week 8 – Prepaid Expenses
- Week 9 – Fixed Assets & Depreciation
- Week 10 – Budget and Forecasting
- Week 11 – Reconciling Accounts
- Week 12 – Escrow, Taxes, and Insurance
Eligibility:
- Pursuant of a degree relevant to Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Authorized to work within the United States
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week
